Alexander V. Mamishev
Professor Alexander V. Mamishev received the equivalent of a BSEE degree from Kiev Polytechnic Institute, Ukraine, in 1992 and his MSEE from Texas A&M University in 1994. IN 1999 he complete a Ph.D in electrical engineering and computer science at MIT, with a minor in technology management from Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan School of Management. Currently he is a professor and director of the Sensors, Energy, and Automation Laboratory (SEAL) in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Washington, Seattle. Mamishev is author on more than 120 technical publications. He serves as an associate editor for the IEEE transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award, the IEEE Outstanding Branch Advisor Awards and the UW EE Outstanding Research Advisor Award.

Sep's Biography
Sep Makhsous
Sep Makhsous is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Washington. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and an MBA in Technology Commercialization from the University of Washington.
Makhsous's research interests include digital signal processing, controls and robotics, embedded systems, and entrepreneurship. He is currently working with industrial partners, NASA, JCATI, and the Air Force to create modern motor controllers for electric aircraft.
Additionally, Makhsous is an accomplished entrepreneur with expertise in technology commercialization, gained through launching successful startups and participating in prestigious startup competitions. He also serves as an associate at OMEGA Venture Partners, where he evaluates startups for their business and technical viability.

Aaron Zielinski
Lead Technical Writer
Aaron Zielinski
Zielinski is the lead technical writer for SEAL, and a staff member of both the UW ECE and UW IAC. His expertise is in technical communications, public outreach, student integration, and R&D grant proposals. He is responsible for lab reporting, manuscript preparation, and integrating students into SEAL research. He also works with several Seattle-based start-ups to develop tools and systems to optimize task flow.
